Engineering & Maintenance Manager
Job ResponsibilitiesSafety and EnvironmentoContribute to the continuous improvement of the KPC Health, Safety, Environmental and Security policies & procedures oEnsure that all Koppers & KPC procedures and policies are followed oDemonstrate a personal commitment to Koppers' Zero Harm/Zero Waste program oEnsure site environmental responsibilities and requirements are met and environmental issues are well managed oEnhance and maintain positive professional relationships with regulators PeopleoOversee 2 direct reports:
Process Engineer and Maintenance SupervisoroSound working relationships need to be established with:
o Production Team o Maintenance Team o HR Manager o SHE Coordinator o Finance & Administration Team oHealth & Safety and Environmental Regulatory Bodies oManages the timelines, budgets, scheduling, delegation of responsibility and project cost otracking for engineering projects oDevelop the capability of team members and other employees by providing coaching and mentoring.
Identify development opportunities and initiate continuous improvement plans to improve the capability of individuals oSuccession planning - recruit and provide the training that enables staff to sustain departmental objectives oProvides support to the Maintenance Department by setting specifications on equipment.
oIdentify and improve process changes for productivity, quality, safety and environmental stewardship by identifying and prioritizing needs and defining goals oProvide engineering technical support to internal and external customers.
oSet and sustains 5S standard in the Engineering Department Plant PerformanceoMonitor, review and enhance controllable parameters on an ongoing basis to achieve optimum equipment performance oIntroduction of technologies, equipment, processes and procedures to improve the efficiencies of the plant.
oEnsure that company assets are protected, maintained and replaced as necessary.
oOversee asset design alterations and contribute to the Management of Change process.
oEnsure the maintainability of new installations.
oIdentify and correct chronic and costly equipment repair problems.
oProvide technical advice to maintenance teams.
oEnsure proper operation and care of equipment.
oMaintain and analyze equipment data and history records to predict maintenance needs.
oDesign and monitor an effective program to ensure that regulatory compliance obligations are met.
Finance/AdministrationoDevelop and maintain capital & operational expenditure budgets oResponsible to review accounts, contracts and authorize/sign final documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures oResponsible to review licenses, permits, leases etc.
and to liaise with the relevant authorities and authorize/sign final documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures oResponsible to ensure activities and work processes are implemented in a manner which supports Koppers corporate governance model Perform other duties as required Recommended Skills Administration Business Process Improvement Coaching And Mentoring Contract Management Environmental Protection Finance Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
